Air Conditioner Advice---Serious advice only! I don't need childish response!!!?

I have a question about my air conditioner pipe on the outside---pvc pipe--- I have 2 labs and I was wondering how I could go about avoiding the constant destruction of that little piece of pvp pipe--- They are constantly ripping the whole freakin' thing off. Beatting them is not the answer and if that is your response, don't waste your time. We have tried "Bitter Apple" and that doesn't work. Serious help. And can we use the heat? What is the actual function of the pipe during the winter???

Since I am not sure what little PVC pipe you are talking about is, I might not be helping as much as I would like.
I suspect the Labs are puppies? Puppies chew on everything. Dogs need chew toys to keep their teeth in shape. Do they have lots of chew toys?
This may sound gross, but if all else fails, urinate on the pipe. If it is PVC, the urine won't be damaged. It might take some dog urine. You should be able to get some from a neighbor who has a dog or from a local Veterinarian. Dogs are territorial and mark their territory by urinating on the marking spot. They will sniff the pipe, but won't chew it. The males will urinate on the pipe, but they won't chew it.

If your talking about the condensate pipe (drips water when air is on) then the answer is simple. Cut the pipe about two inches away from your house and take it to your local hardware store for size purposes. Ask for a female pvc adapter and a galvanized pipe the length you cut off that is threaded on one end (a pipe nipple might would work fine if its long enough), also pick up a can of pvc glue. Glue the adapter on the pvc @ your house and simply thread the pipe into the adapter.

The pipe is just for the overflow and condensation. There is usually a second pipe above it that if the lower pipe is blocked, the water coming from this higher pipe drips and gets your attention. The lower pipe can be capped or you could consider building a small metal or wood box to cover it. I used to stack the firewood around it, I didn't plan it that way I just knew it wasn't critical that it be uncovered. Go ahead and cover it, dogs are dogs, water comes from the pipe and just says lick me to the pups! The furnace is fine, they are part of the same system but the pipe has to do with the ac and the condensation when its in use in hot weather.

The pipe can be removed until spring IF you are not running the a\c in the winter months.

Inside the "pipe" you should find copper tubing, this is what carries the freon from the main unit outside to the compressor and back inside after the heat has dissipated.
It has no function on the furnace, only the air conditioning.
I would recommend having it inspected prior to summer next year, as it is possible they did puncture the copper, if so, you lost your freon.
In the mean time, can you build some sort of enclosure around it, blocking them from accesing it (even a small fence or a box around the tubing? Is it possible to put chicken wire or tooling wire around it?) As long as you are not covering the fan compressor unit, you should be fine.

I think that is insulation pipe for other wires etc...
Maybe you can coat the pipe with Tabasco..
or try to condition your dogs against it.. like if you see them chewing on it.. (don't beat them) but get a spray water bottle and spritz them in the face each time they chew..

Cover the PVC with cement, the function is to avoid corrosion in the flush line of the a/c..☺

pvc pipe is water drain for ac coils. cut it off close to the house or rerout it someplace where dogs cant get it
