you need to understand that there is no such thin as an ex alcoholic, however there are some that are catagorized as recovering alcoholics who have not touch a drop in a very long time ,but for the most part once you have accepted the fact you are you also are, and it is not uncommon for them to jump off the wagon and start drinking again, he needs to get back into AA and it wouldn't hurt for you to support him by attending the meetings with him,Good Luck

Once an Alcoholic always and forever and EVER an ALCOHOLIC you never become an EX to this disease. Even if your partner was sober for 20 years he would still be considered a Alcoholic. Get yourself to Al-anon ASAP DO NOT GO TO AA with him thats for him you need Al-anon

This same thing happened to my mom. She dated a recovering alcoholic for a few years, but then when they moved in together, he started drinking again soon after! He completely changed. He became horrible to live with. They have since split because she couldn't deal with it. I am so glad. She lived with my dad in a crappy marriage for 20 years, so I did not think she deserved to be in another bad relationship.

hello, so you have been married for a month, and he is drinking. You need to go ASAP to alcoholics annonyms and go with him to these meetings, get counseling as well for the marriage, go to your church or preference and get counsling there as well. Why did he start drinking? Just be careful. Please seek help , stay safe. God bless always the both of you.
