Well I'm going to a Goo Goo Dolls concert. I bought general admission tickets. Now I know general admission means you get to stand wherever as long as you get there early enough. But the tickets say row G4 Seat 113-114? But then the ticket master website says the general admission section has no seats. I'm confused? Also if it has a no recording policy and no video...can I still bring a digital camera to take pics? Here's the link to the venue just in case http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04003D848C5A8943?artistid=735190&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=60

1. The ticket thing is common--I was confused my first time buying tickets, too. :) It's just a way to help keep track of selling the tickets, and it's probably a required field when inserting information onto blank tickets.

2. Most venues do not allow cameras of any kind. Some allow "personal" digital cameras--anything that looks small and rather non-professional (like a big camera with light setup and changeable lenses--this includes most of the most common digital cameras).

Best thing to do? Smuggle it in! Be prepared to hide it discreetly--because most places do pat downs and/or searching bags and purses. If you are bringing a girl (or you are a girl!), hide it in your purse--in one of those zip pockets, or even just make a hole in the seam of the lining to slip it under. This works best if you have a medium sized purse at least, and a pretty average sized camera.

Also, tips for taking pictures--NO FLASH! That's a sure way to attract attention and even annoy the artists on stage or those around you. Cover your flash up temporarily with black tape if you're afraid of it accidentally going off. Be discreet about taking pictures, too--some places don't care too much, but some security guards will take away your camera if they see it. You may or may not get it back.

Using no flash affects your picture quality--so you will probably have to stand still for a couple of seconds while taking your picture (to avoid grain and blurriness). This can get annoying--especially when everyone around you is jumping. Sometimes you have to think--is it really worth it to stand and take pictures when you could be jumping with everyone in the pit?!

I've been to quite a few concerts, so I'll try to fill you in to the best of my knowledge.

General admission does not typically have seats-you're correct. However, there are seats on the floor, which are usually considered general admission as well. Although people move freely among these seats, Ticketmaster still puts the seat name on each ticket so that they can keep track of how many tickets sold, how many more spots available, etc.

As for recording devices, video cameras can usually be smuggled in, however they are frowned upon. I'm pretty sure digital cameras are quite acceptable, however I would stick with a "don't ask unless questioned" policy. Basically, don't ask any of the ticket takers if cameras are allowed, just take it with you and you'll be fine. I've never heard of anyone getting a camera taken away.

Have a great time at your first concert! The Goo Goo Dolls should be great!

Whenever I've bought tickets that were general admission, it would say the same thing. I wouldn't worry about that if I were you. I think it's just something like a code for ticketmaster or something, and most places are pretty strict about their no video policy, and they won't allow cameras of any kind, but if you can sneak it in and take pictures when nobody's watching, you'll be fine. My best advice as far as the camera thing goes - take a camera phone and just be sneaky.

If this is a few thing like i comprehend it, that is a "first come, first served" kinda element - in case you get there early, you'd be accurate up the front, if not you're stuck between human beings a lot taller than you, squashed up hostile to at least one yet another. No seats in maximum arenas. the different tickets were probably seats and larger expensive because they have a certain more advantageous suited view (except you're fortunate and get accurate up the front interior the GA bit). more advantageous tender there too - I went to a live performance on a GA cost tag once (there have been no others, it replaced into an outside live performance) yet I really does not ideas if I by no skill had to attempt this back! No, you can't take any pictures.
Are you in the US? I thought General admission was banned because at a concert years ago people were trampled to death when the doors opened.
