They don`t fear death, they fear the unknown. Its human nature. Even young children; most of the time, when they`re afraid of the dark, they`re not really afraid of the dark itself, but of what or who might be hiding in the dakr where they can`t see. Its not death, but the unsureness. What the afterlife holds for them, if everyone they love will be there, what its like. I think, no matter what your religion is, somewhere, deep down, we all have doubts about the afterlife. Sometimes we wonder if there even is one.

It is know true out the world that there is a lot to experience through out live and it is said that one can't experience it all in one live. And you know how people like a challenge. Another option is also that people fear the unknown, and noone is certain what happens after we die. So some might strive for ever lasting live on earth out of fear. Or just to see everything that will happen in the world, all the changes and so. These are all posibilities and any of them might be the one, but since we are not talking of one person, all of them might be plosibel.

the truth is there is no such thing as an atheist. people fear death because they are not sure that they have this all figured out or that they have done the right things.
i myself do not wish to live a long life here on earth . i do fear death . i do believe that Jesus is real and that my faith is at least the right one. . i dont however feel at any time that i am good enough to go to heaven instead i feel very much that i am so terrbible that i should go to well not hell but not heaven.
i would not send anyone to hell if it were up to me not one person would go to hell at least not for eternity.
any who the point is that some people will say they dont believe in God they will say that when we die thats is it nothing more no more thought feeling no more anything. yet if those people really thought that then i think we would have a great deal more dangerous crimimals and a great deal more people attempting to rule the world . in addtion we would not have the slightess shortage of crash test dummies. if a person belived that nothing came after death then a car company could just say ok we will give such and such an amount of money to a person x number of years prior to there having to be a crash test dummy and they would find no shortage of people willing to do it.
i dont see that .
the only people that i see seeking death are those that belive that there is life after death . now its true that the ones that seek to become part of the next life and take action to get there are what we call fanatics. i myself am sure that a person that straps bombs to himself and then blows himself up on a bus or somthing is not going to get to heaven yet some of the people let the reader know who they are
will do that.
some will say they fear pain. that i know to be true we all fear pain. but death for an atheist does not contain pain. so why then would a un happy atheist seek to live. i am sure that that are many atheist that trully do not think that there life will get any better ever yet they dont kill themselfs. why because there is no such thing as an atheist. so you see we all fear GOD plain and simple some fear God more and some less some acknowledge it and some lie to themselves and say they dont belief but as i have shown we all belief in God and fear God

Yeah! Many strive to live long but they don't know what to do. I think they are afraid to die because they don't know what's reserved for them or they don't believe in afterlife like Nirvana or Heaven. Maybe they haven't fulfilled there mission in life or haven't found there purpose. Maybe there are not yet satisfied with there life. Maybe they consider death as having no control over the living world or worst the end of everything. Maybe tehy don't have a firm and strong faith on where they will go.

Because they think they are their body, and they are attached to the material world which is called Maya or illusion. They do not understand Karma and Reincarnation and that we are eternal spirit soul part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. Our only purpose as humans is to reconnect with our maker also known as God, Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu etc. The quickest and easiest way to stop the cycle of repeated birth death, old age and disease is to chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra or the Great Mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion go to krishnaculture. to get all details. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada, If one takes up this process, at the time of death one will go to their original home which is full of eternal bliss, knowledge and Love

personally, i find death less scary than living life. I used to be not be scared of death, but the thought of it brought pain. Imagine something unfullfilled. Something you felt you had to prove before it was all set n done that you didnt get a chance to do. I think most people feel that way. Death is scary yes, but it goes beyond that in a sence with what comes along with it. Make sence?

Depend who do you ask. I know Christians are not afraid to face their end (of life) cause it's one of the way to meet their Saviour.

People strive to live longer so that they can enjoy life just a wee bit more. To see their offspring grown, to see phonomenal event that might happen on the face of this earth, or even to correct their past mistake (I am pretty sure one of these are in the deepest human's heart). Besides, our physical body and our soul is only good in this world.

Hope it helps! :)

Cause they are not sure what to expect....people ground their minds on the fact that they know outcomes to situations.....therefore they grasp onto what they know or how they used to be "the quilt of experiences" call it. Instead of just allowing themselves to live w/o fear of dyning and living in the always "happening" NOW using the past only as notes we took on life to reminisce, learn( see a pattern??)...etc. but not be ruled by which many people unfortunately are.....then they just keep on truckin

We all are afraid of uncertainity and uncontrollable phenomenon. As we dont know that what is going to happen we are scared of it. we also know that its final, once we die we can never revert it. So we fear death......its the end of the self, being and the whole world for a person which he/she has been holding dear to him/her
