Ignore that idiot. The doctor's office measured the head, probably twice or more just to be sure, and if there was any sort of problem, even if they only suspected a problem, they would have told you about it.
Also, baby's heads at this point are like half their body. That's an exageration, but still, their heads are huge compared to the rest of them and they won't match up properly until somewhere around 5 years old.
Ultrasound pics are wierd anyway because they're not really in proper focus the whole way across. Things on the edges are kinda... stretched, I guess, a little more than the things in the middle, where the ultrasound waves are focused. Add that to the grainy black and white printout and people who've never seen one before won't have any idea what part is the baby! I showed mine at work one day, and one lady asked if it was a cat!
You used the term 'his' so do you know it's a boy?
Either way, girl or boy, congratulations and good luck!

my 18 week ultrasound showed a completely healthy baby that was growing as it should be.. everything was measured and given the green light.. my baby's head looks massive too! like a weird alien being.. the head is the biggest part of the baby when it is born. Dont worry, any abnormality would have been detected by the doctors. Congratulations!

Relax. Yes the baby's head is supposed to be big compared to the rest of the body. Apparently the family and one person never had a baby let alone seen an ultrasound picture before.

Yes its normal - they look like little aliens for a while in there :). My D didn't start looking human until 7-8 months and I never would have seen her at that time except they decided my belly was measuring big so they did another ultrasound....
Please don't worry about what everyone says throughout your pregnancy though because there are a million people out there who think that because you are pregnant it gives them the right to give you unwanted advice - so just take everything with a grain of salt and just nod and smile when you know what they are saying is nuts :). And unfortunately it doens't stop when the baby is born - it continues til maybe college and after lol :).
Congrats :) and hope that helps :)

If i'm not mistaken, baby head to look bigger than his body especially in earlly stage. Cos the time range for the head and body to grow are different. The head grow slower than the body
...Anyway , you should get the Dr. confirmation 1st. But no need to worry much, I think it's still normal... :-)..congrat's on the new baby!

Don't listen to everything people tell you. The doctors know what they are talking about. I know exactly how you feel with this being your first pregnancy. If you have any concerns, talk with your doctor. I'm sure your baby is just fine. Have you been reading any books on pregnancy? I really liked What to Expect when You're Expecting. There is a lot of information in books. Good luck with everything and don't stress too much! :)

The head looks big because they zoom in on the baby. Dont worry about what people tell you if your dr says everything is fine then it is. You just have to overlook peeps like that I had too.

Is the person who said this to you an expert, a professional, or even have a clue? If there were a problem - your doctor would have informed you of a possable abnormality. Since they said everything was good, RELAX!
and dont listen to everything, that everyone has to say.
