I'm really smart in this, it's just I can't think of one. It's on symbolism throughout the novel.

there's several examples of symbolism in the book, I'll let you pick one that your the most comfortable with. You'll have to shape idea for a topic sentence a little, but that shouldn't be too hard.

1. Piggy's glasses (Piggy himself) could represent intelligence/logic, The condition of his glasses represents the status of the social order. (when they are broken, the order is destroyed)
2. The pig's head could represent the Devil or evil in general
3. the conch shell (Ralph) could represent democracy and order
4. Jack represents savagery and anarchy
5. simon represents goodness
6. the island is a symbol for the whole world
7. the Beast could represent the evil and darkness that reside in all humans.

As I recall, most of the symbolism in The Lord of the Flies is about civilization and the breakdown of order.

A good topic sentence might be "Many characters and objects in The Lord of the Flies symbolise aspects of Golding's underlying message about mankind's ties to society and what happens when these ties are broken."

all i can say is that in law class we watched this movie and we mostly talked about life with out rules and how people may react in extreme conditions or the fact that there were 2 natural leaders and that the hunters took over because even in the very old days the provider always beat out the none provider and even in today's society you have to provide or your don't go anywhere or even end up on the streets

You could delve into the psychology of social behavior. The transition from one class to two distinct groups, where the aggressive group delegitmizes the other group. The use of group conformity pressure to control objections. Look into Milgram's Obedience research to explain why one group becomes so aggressive.
