I know not all circus animals are abused but do you really think an animal would be willing to jump through a ring of fire? ride bike? exc. No probally not. Some circuses should be stop. And yes I do think about random things like this lol.

For the people who thinks its the animals choice its not all the time, go to www.petatv.com and look under entertainment animals The ringling bro. company abuses there elephants by sticking hooks under there chins and in the back of the knees ive seen it personally. its cruel. i watched a video on one elephant finally defending himself and he ending up killing two people and trying to run away not trusting people so he'd try and kill what was in his way. He ended up being shot til he died. its just cruel.

Actually the Animal desideing to do something is the basis of some animal activities in the circus.
*has to talk to her uncle on the phone and forgets stuff*
The Tigers are presented something and it's up to them if they want to do it. They can not be forced or nudged or hit or the wrong tone of voice... or... remember Sigfred & Roy? Ya,.. even if they love you they can get grumpy and carried away.
The Elephants,.. they kill people,.. no problem.
It's hard for alot of people to grasp but there are animals that WANT to do things and really enjoy learning things.
For example Poodles are the image people have for the trained dogs in circus acts,.. Poodles are one of the smartest Dog breed. They get bored, curious, inquizative and open to learning something because they enjoy it. Now social group Animals have personalities that play a great deal,.. so not every Poodle, Tiger, or Elephant is going to be willing to be trained and used in a circus.
If you look very deeply into things owned animals of this sort are found in a few places: Illegal in someone's residence, rescue/wildlife special places, Zoo, and Entertainment.
I would like to submit this annoying person in reality into one of those places,.. please take him.
Umm,.. anyways,.. some of the Circus in old days would get an animal that was not a great specimen for a Zoo ( not the perfect entertainment for people to stare at as they sat around in cages),... nothing good was going to happen... depending on the time period the animal might be put down or released to the wild where they would die from lack of survival instincts and thinking humans are friendly. So a very laid back sick weak Lion or Bear would earn it's medical expenses while it got it's exercise holding a position next to one human while it's real trainer/humanfriend stood by outside the spotlight cheering them on.
The annoying person has been talking this whole time,... I don't know how screwed up this came out. My male cat likes to try to use computers... there are dogs that like to ride bikes, skates, skateboards, and scooters even though their owners never trained them or forced them to or anything,.. they even try to punish them to stop the behavior. There are cats that love to swim in swimming pools every day. It's all about personality.
Added: I get alot from Peta and I pay attention. I have learned that part of what they say or think they know is based on human emotion, rumours, or a single event that the businesses punished the employees for breaking the business guide lines and abuseing animals. Elephants are quite smart and VERY emotional. If someone is not actting right they find ways to make a point about it and if they can't get that person dealt with they deal with it themselves. People freak out if an Elephant is hit by a pole,.. they forget horses are whipped or heeled because of their size it's a ratio thing,.. so only enough is applied for the Elephant to feel (it's like a brush on your arm) and a distance is kept so the Elephant can see the person and perform it's activity,.. or decide to complain and make a point it's not in the mood by laying down and mopeing without hurting anyone in the process. I think my Libra friend is like an Elephant XD He does what he wants and gets bored but can't think what to do.. so you nudge him and he goes " Oh thanks" and does that or something else,.. it doesn't matter what,.. he just needed to snap out of the boredem.
Watch The Dog Whisperer XD ( My friend is not a dog,.. it's just the methods apply for many animals) Do not take Peta too seriously (they get wrong and get quiet instead of explaining to everyone they made freak out) especially when your on a Peta that's not offically Peta.

Everything by PETA is garbage.
Most circus animals are treated quite well, if a large animal doesn't want to do something, they won't do it, and there really isn't any way to make them.
Do you have a dog? Do you really think he wants to sit every time you tell him to?
Try working with large animals (or even housecats!) and then think about training something that is over 2,000 pounds. Things that are that large can't really be forced into doing anything.
Try looking further than a shock site to gather information next time.

No, I disagree.
If the animal didn't want to ride a bike, it wouldn't. It's been trained to do this. This means that when the animal does ride a bike, it gets a reward. If the animal didn't think the reward was worth it, then the animal wouldn't bother with the bike. But the animal wants the reward, so it choose to ride the bike. This is how all animals are trained.

I do not go to the circus for that very reason. And I tell friends and family how I feel. My "poor" 13 yr old child has never been!

you've got the wrong website. PETA blows everything way out of proportion anyway but this other website you've been looking at does too. http://www.peta.org/ is the real PETA website. (Personally I think they're a load of nutters- no offense)
