Our church is, in fact, quite accepting of gays...and everyone else.

Yes to all.

Even though these 3 things are considered sins, if we kicked everyone out of the church building for a sin then the church would be empty. Even the pastor/priest wouldn't be there!

Sin is sin. If you can except a drug dealer, prostitue, thier, and a lier you can accept homosexuals, women who have had abortion, and convicted criminals.

Who are we to judge them? If an openly gay person, or an obviously pregnant teenager (who came in the church the next week and was obviously not pregnant) came in to the church building, someone would be pointing their stupid little finger. But God forbid that person's dirty laundry be aired!

"...'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Mathew 22:39) (NIV)

Christians are falling because they are lowering moral standards in order to seem accepting but it is highly hypocritical. Building huge churches has become more of a priority than adhering to church doctrine as established by the Christian church.
According to the bible all those sinners will be banned from heaven so why let them into the sanctity of the church?
I think it's all about the political correctness trend where it's not cool to view homosexuality as unacceptable behavior. I certainly would not want to belong to a church full of hedonists. Sometimes I feel we are becoming a modern day Sodom which God chose to destroy. Just look around and sin is everywhere in the form of freedom to do whatever and be whatever.
To those who say it is not for us to judge I say God has already judged by setting down the law in the bible it is for Christians to live by that law.

Hello I am a Christian and youth Sunday School teacher. I feel that people in general don't want homosexuals around them because they simply live a sinful life. However I do believe that we have all falling short of the Glory of God. Jesus Himself sat and taught whores and tax collectors and other rejected people of that time. How then should we judge and mistreat someone who is hurting for one reason or another. I strongly believe that we as Christians are to be persuasive about our religion in Love not hatred. God is love and I think people lose sight of that. I hope this answers your question. Take Care and remember you and I were once in sin too. Kina

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Since all are sinners, all are in need of repentance which leads to salvation through Jesus Christ. I personally have no trouble with a gay or lesbian person coming to church because God could always work a miracle in their life and they too need salvation. However, the Church of Christ should never ordain those who practise these sins -or any sins- nor should anyone who is not willing to repent of these sins -or any sins- be made a full time member of a church or baptized. What kills me is, why would gays and lesbians want to go to a place that believes in a book -the Bible- which specifically condemns their lifestyle. The Church of Christ should definitely not claim God's blessing on the "marital union" of gays and lesbians because God will not, does not, nor will He ever bless these unions

homosexuals- that's none of my business what they do when they go home, if they're not hurting anyone, so yes. women who have had abortions, yes and anyway most people won't know about that, becuase its not like they advertise it in the local paper when a woman has her baby killed. convicted criminals, yes, just don't go to the same place of where the criminal's victim(s) attend church, as that could be uncomfortable.

Do you know there are so many things in in the bible considered sins, like taking your daughter to the edge of town to be stoned to death for not being a virgin on her wedding night. We as civilized society pick and choose what to make the bible fit today, and picking or not to let homosexuals in church isnt your business its between them and God what if you to ask about letting Muslims come to your church to see who Christ was all about and you felt uncomfortable, that would be your own perceptions of what society has made you feel. The church should be open to everyone who wants to learn about God no discrimination allowed and if they do then find a new church.

Well i don't think so because in the bible it is not right to. to me abortion is way wrong because it says no life shall be killed or something like that, so that means that we really yo me shouldn't be open to it. That is just my opinon. But see i have a gay uncle and in the bible it also says that love the sinner but hate the sin so in that way i think that we could. I am both ways with it. Sorry if i didn't help. God Bless!!

We certainly should. Jesus didn't choose to hang around with just the believers, but with those He could help whether they believed or not. The whole point was to heal so they could witness for His Father to those who did not believe. We should be open to all who would listen. Homosexuals, criminals, those who have had abortions and any and all others can be forgiven. None of us are perfect and we are all sinners of one kind or another. God Bless.

Given that Church leaders have been famous for sexually molesting choirboys for centuries I think a little bit of tolerance wouldnt go amiss.
Also given that 99.99999999% of christians find it impossible to obey all but one of the 10 commandments i am not surprised at the hypocrisy or the bigotry.

We should be open to anyone who will come to church as long as they don't come to stir things up. Hopefully the visitors will want to give Jesus a try. Jesus loves all and wants all to go to heaven.
