We can agree that we will not accept more lies about the true situation in Iraq.
A lot of opportunity to make a course correction was lost because the administration was busy using their press shills to trumpet stories of "good news" in Iraq when in fact, it did not exist.
We also need to quit wasting money on contracted "reconstruction" projects that go nowhere due to the dangerous conditions.
As for terrorists, we must renew our cooperation with other governments, and return to good and careful inspection and police work and quit the made-for-TV torture/color-code/black-ops chaos that is being put on instead.

I think all Americans would agree on that. I think where people become divided is on the issue of how the victory can be achieved, when its considered a victory, and how to effectively deal with the terrorist threat

The American people, especially parents in America, can unite on holding their children to accountability for their actions; at school, in the community, and at home.
The American people need to be aware of the "internal" threat on our own societal principles being promulgated by "liberal" parents, supporting their child's "individual rights".
Too many parents are attempting to "be friends" with their children, placing disciplinary action on the school, the police, and other social agencies.
Parents, "step up to the plate", accept the fact that you bore your children: You are accountable and responsible--not their friends (which you let them "hang out" with)--or the music they listen to or the tv programs they watch, or the web-sites they visit! Who's in control?

Those whose lives have been endangered by trying to work in establishing a peaceful democracy must not be abandonned to the terrorists if we back out and run away. We must agree on that, not let it become another civilian blood bath like Vietnam was when that retreat was ordered.

In the past hard times and a strong enemy have united America. However, the times we have now are not hard enough and our enemies are not strong enough to get us to unite the way we should be. But you never know what the future holds for us.

the fact that Bush has done a piss poor job on both the topics you mention. I've seen 80 yr old women frisked in airports, and almost 3000 US kids are dead.
