This is because you do not know who you actually are. We are not these bodies ie; race, color, nationality, religion, mind job, etc. we are eternal spirit soul, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. When we fully understand our original self we are full of bliss, knowledge and eternality. We never die only the body dies. If we want to experience who we truly are and have the veils of this illusory energy off our consciousness, the quickest and easiest way is to chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra (the Great Mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion) go to krishnaculture. for complete details and read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. I use to feel like that but now I know who I really am.

Unfortunately, being someone else for a week or 500 weeks wouldn't solve the problem! They may not have the issues you have, but they have other issues that are just as bad or even worse!
Furthermore, being someone else is just a fantasy - it always appears to be better than what it really is. It's also a physical & practical impossibility, so why even entertain such thoughts?
Whatever crisis you are facing right now is manageable, even though at times it may not seem like it. Hey, it's the weekend...why not take a mini-vacation? Get a change of panorama, get away from it all for a while, and do something you genuinely enjoy? It's amazing what one day of genuine relaxation can do for your body, mind, and spirit! Oh, and bring some chocolate along with you! And your favorite music! And hopefully, you'll be ready to take on the world again real soon!
Try it! And good luck!

I know what you mean, sometimes you just do certain things that you feel like you have to run away from it to make everything better. Or when you know that are certain qualities that you don't have and you wish you had. If I could be someone else for just one week, I would definitely take the chance. But I don't think that I will ever get a chance like that, and so I think I have started in accepting myself because this is who and what I will be for the rest of my life so I can only try and make myself better.

This may sound nuts. But go get your hair cut. Get it dyed too. And buy a new shirt or jeans while you are at it.
Changing little things about how you look can really change how you feel about yourself. If you find that you are doing things that you dont like about yourself, then try to stop. But remember that anything that you are hating yourself for is unnecessary. Dont worry about what other people think. Find something that makes you happy and do it.

And something that helped me was reading "The 7 habits of highly effective teens" by Sean Covey it was so much fun to read.

Each individual is a unique intersection of biology, personality, and environment. Learn what is special about you and exploit it. Then use it to make a difference.
