I prefer music like Devotchka, Mars Volta, Lolipuna, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Flaming Lips, Bowie, Cure, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams and Arcade Fire. If you know of any bands that have that sort of sound please recommend. I also love electronic, pop, and anything with good bass. I just need to find more music. Thank you :)

Man!! I can help you here! The majority of the bands these fine folk have recommended make me want to vomit.
The bands you listed are mostly totally decent (and it's Lali Puna, is it not?). Well okay, here I go...You must tell me how you like these bands, at least some of them!!
Assorted stuff...
-- Wolf Parade (an acquired taste, but give them a few listens and you will fall in LOOOVE)
--Sufjan Stevens
-- Elliott Smith
-- Death Cab For Cutie
-- Stars
-- Broken Social Scene
-- Cat Power
-- The American Analog Set (god, YES!!)
-- The Shins
-- Sunset Rubdown (give these guys a try ONLY if you like Wolf Parade)
Some more electroissssh/beaty/bassy stuff...
-- New Buffalo
-- Reverie Sound Revue
-- Psapp
-- Controller.Controller (for good bass..acquired taste)
-- Life Without Buildings (neat little brit group)
-- The Postal Service
-- Sigur Ros (sort of ambient...another acquired taste)
-- Zero 7 (prob already know these guys)
Well that's just scratching the surface, but I GUARANTEE you will like at the very very very least one of those, and if you don't...well, by golly I will eat my hat!!
Good luck!

T. Rex is good place to start along Bowie lines. Marc Bolan (T. Rex) "invented" Glam rock, which Bowie quickly copied, and they were friends and whatnot. More ethereal / quasi-earthy / *magical* sounding than Bowie. Marc was a much better songwriter and performer than Bowie, too. Also Roxy Music, Cockney Rebel, Jobriath, Lou Reed, etc...
Um... The Church (!!!), Siouxsie & the Banshees, Echo & the Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins, etc... for The Cure. The Church is the most fab and are still around. Pretty pretty.
Regina Spektor, Devendra Banhart, Magnetic Fields... for quirky-folky-indie-pop.
Jesse Malin sounds like (and is friends with/toured with) Ryan Adams.
ANd while I don't really care for the following bands, you'd probably like Mew, The Decemberists, Andrew Bird, Starlight Mints... for hipster indie rock/pop a la Arcade Fire and Devotchka (respectively).
