i still have great memorys of everquest 1, i was thinking of buying the game again , but would it be just as fun? the problem that was happening when i left like a year ago is all the old zones were uninhabited like north karana, blackburrow, everyone seemed to be powerleveling an heading for the planes an thats it. so im asking, is it better to remember everquest how it once was or is it still fun ?

Yeah, when EQ1 was new, it was the greatest online experience ever, and many hours did I burn trying to get those orc belts without having a lion eat me while I was resting... Or avoiding Griffons in the Karanas. Sadly... you kinda missed out on the recent last hoorah!

A few months ago Sony tried to recapture the old magic by opening up special "progression servers" where all the zones were reset back to what they were several years ago, before any of the expansions. Once players on a server accomplished certain milestone tasks (like deating Vox and Nagafen) that would open up new expansion stuff, like Kunark, and so on.

Needless to say, people didn't sleep for a week and guilds had people on 24-7. The dragons went down in a week :P While it was fun, it wasn't the same. Crafting has changed- no more having to click single items to combine; everyone knows what's in the zones so the thrill of seeing something you never saw before is gone. Even on a brand-new server, when no one is really a newbie but rather grizzled lvl 65 hardcore players who've seen it all and done everything, it's not as much fun.

If you're looking for that old magical feeling, the original creators of Everquest are releasing a new game in 2007 called Vanguard:Saga of Heroes. In this world, everyone will be starting fresh, it will be challenging like the old EQ, and there are no zones- just one big seamless world. That should rock!!!

Nowadays on EQ1, everyone is back to raiding the planes, the great zones of our youth are abandoned.

i could propose the two The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, or Dragon Age: Origins. the two large video games, the latter is somewhat greater like WoW in terms of wrestle, kit and interface, yet lacks the open worldwide exploration and deep storyline of the former. i could additionally propose getting the sequel to Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which comes out this November. The trailer on my own jogs my memory of Northrend, that's sufficient to get nostalgia flowing. desire this facilitates!
