Ok, my friend is a senior and I'd like to go with her to the winter formal. Only thing is I can't really dance (at all) and I'm not very good with things like dances. It really isn't my thing, but I want to do it. Got any advice? I have six weeks...lol.

dont go with #3. go with me---i rule. dont see it as a dance so much as a big fun group of people who you know in the same room. dances are awkward, so just try to push yourself into believing no one is looking at you. it's hard, but it's completely true. people will come up to you at school the next day and say, "hey, saw you at the dance---did you have fun?" and they wont remember anything about the night except for their own time. ask one of your friends who seems to be pretty social and fun if he can teach you a little bit how to dance---that, too, will be awkward, but make fun of yourself while you're doing it. and just ask the girl. she might say no, but then just ask someone else---in 5 years it wont matter if she says no. BUT SHE WONT. because you're cool and fun. the first dance and the first date are a big obstacle. but you can do it. and high school is a great time. this can be your big break into the world of having fun with kids from your class. good luck, bro!

Ask her first, then before you get to far into it tell her right away you don't know how to dance. It will make it easier on you and her. Dances are also a social event so brushing up on your social skills will be more important. If you want to impress her a little take some dance lessons, or ask someone who knows how to dance to show you some easy steps. I would recommend a rumba or a night club 2 step. They are a little romantic, easy to lead, and will impress your date and others on the dance floor.

dude i have the same exact problem i wanna go with this girl but i am afraid that i cant dance or anything or make a fool of myself its just so hard to make a decision winter formal in like 6 weeks.... i gotta learn how to dance immediatly

GO! Who cares if you cannot dance. Hang out. Drink punch. Whatever. High school does not last forever. Have fun now.

Well really it is up to you. I think if you really want to go with her then go. I think you and her will have fun even if you are not the best dancer. So give it a shot. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
