Good question -- here's another one, though, what's the difference between a teenager and an adolescent? ;)
I think that adults have the OPPORTUNITY to see the world more clearly than youth, by virtue of their greater experience and opportunity to accumulate wisdom over time. I say "opportunity", though, because in my experience I generally agree with you -- most adults do not see the world very clearly at all, because they have allowed themselves to become stuck in their little routines and rituals, and have become accustomed to living life in such a self-centered way (that is, totally focused on such mundane matters as their career, finances, nuclear family concerns, etc.) that they have lost sight of what life is really like in the world outside of their own little personal enclave.
Young people, on the other hand, tend to be less encumbered by these restraints (some more so than others), and so in actuality I believe many of them do have a clearer grasp of what is going on -- at least for a time. Sadly, though, most of them will take little advantage of this position and eventually get stuck in the same "adult" ruts as their predecessors. In fact, it's almost seen in our culture as a contest to see who can carve out their little ruts most quickly, and indeed, viewed as the act of "growing up" to do so. Those who don't do so in a timely manner will most likely be labeled as eccentric, or "immature", and have difficulty getting others to take them seriously. Still, it is a grave mistake on the part of these young people to COMPLETELY discount the value of the life experience of adults -- because that (admittedly rare) adult who really "gets it", who has never taken his/her eyes off the big picture, will still have a much broader perspective and keener insight into life and the world than even the brightest of teenagers ever could.
Good question, though -- now just don't let yourself become one of the jaded ones! :)

A child. Then an adult. And a teenager sees the world the least clearly of all.

There's nothing like the sparkle in a child's eyes as they take in the world around them. They see the same things we see, but they "see" them without prejudice or misconception. They simply "see" what is. Little by little, as they "learn", the sparkle diminishes. By the time they have acquired the knowledge they will need to "survive" and succeed in life, the sparkle is gone.
The sparkle in my eyes came back the day my son was born. But mine, unlike his, flutters in and out; because I "know" what he does not. Who sees the world more clearly...that's open to interpretation. I'm not so convinced anymore that "clarity" is all that it's "cracked up" to be.

This is one of those questions where you cannot paint everyone with a broad brush. I can pick someone out of ANY group who sees more clearly than ANOTHER group. But in general, adults do because of their wisdom gained through experience. I agree we can be more resistant to new ideas at times.

This does not depend on age. If one understand their constitutional position as eternal spirit soul, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, then they see things as they are. We are not these bodies,ie; race, color nationality, religion, job, etc. This world is called Maya or illusion and is temporary and full of misery. The quickest and easies way have the veils of illusion raised from our consciousness is to chant the Maha Mantra or the Great Mantra for deliverance (from suffering and illusion) go to krishnaculture. for complete details. Read Bhagavad- Gita As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada which will give all ages full knowledge of the Absolute Truth.
