We're promoting more ignorance by allowing people to be lazy. If they are educated, they should go back to their countries. They can become leaders and make changes. They stay here, work under the table, and don't create success because they haven't bothered to learn english. It's convenient having everything in spanish.

Their children get into the school systems. Tax money pays for these special ELL/ESL classes. They score poorly in the assessment tests, which affects their city. We have to stop making it easy for them by forcing English.

Because our money is worth more in thie countries, they can work here, save money, and they go back to their country to live easy lives.
I'm not being spiteful. My parents were immigrants, but my mother was forced to learn english. Nothing was in her native tongue. She was forced to learn w/ anyone to help her. Her school didn't even offer ELL. But now, everything is available and that allows some to decide to stay ignorant, if they decide.

more problems when I work and someone can't communicate with me. We are promoting a country in which everyone doesn't have to speak english, and they shoud. This isn't Denmark or the Netherlands where everyone learns 6 languages cause they travel around countries like states. This is the UNITED states of America, where the national language is english. By putting spanish translations on stuff, were postponing people who don;t speak english from learning it. If everything was in English and they had no help, they'd learn pretty fast.

When we post up spanish translations it is promoting americans to be aware of how diverse we are and that english is not the only language(it also makes you wanna learn spanish, i guess)

I think that tells the illegals that it doesn't matter if they learn English. I'm a teacher in CA, and I'm telling you, the illegals have absolutely NO INCENTIVE WHATSOEVER to learn English. The schools cater to them, there are Spanish TV networks, radio station, every other announcement at Home Depot is Spanish, etc... Why would they want to learn English when Bush and the new Democrat Congress have an open door policy? It's very disturbing. Here in CA, politicians keep wondering why the test scores of CA students keep dropping. Half the frickin' kids don't speak any English!!! If you are looking for a teaching job, move to CA. I, along with many other teachers, are sick of it and are looking to start a new career, mostly because of the illegals and the way politicians cater to them. It's quite sad, actually.

Like it or not buffman ..its called coming to grips with reality...in the year 2050 it has been projected that Mexican Americans will be the majority in this Country.
