My school id doing The Sound Of Music, I heard a little about it, like it takes place in World War 2, and the family has to run away.

You are so lucky! Growing up watching the movie, I used to dream about being one of the girls in the musical.
I think you should rent the movie to appreciate how cool this opportunity is.

World War II hasn't started yet in this movie, it takes place in 1939. You should really rent the movie, but I can tell you anyway^^.
Maria is a soon-to-be nun who is sent to the VonTrapp Family to watch Captain VonTrapp's 7 children. Captain VonTrapp is a retired Navy captain who's wife died. Brigitta is one of his children, she's 11 and she's very strong willed and out going. Maria is their nanny, aka, governess who watches the children and teaches them to sing and break the cold, strict facade of Captain VonTrapp. Maria begins to fall in love with the Captain, but he's engaged to this woman named Baroness Schrader. Maria gets freaked out when she realizes she's in love with the Captain, but Mother Superior at the Abbey tells Maria love between a man and a woman is blessed by god. Lo and behold, the Captain realizes he doesn't love the Baroness, and loves Maria! Maria goes back to the children and marries the Captain and they almost live happily ever after. They have to escape Austria because the Nazis are coming after Captain VonTrapp who opposes WWII. So Maria, Captain and the children escape. The songs are really great and the VonTrapps were a real family who did sing and tour countries singing. Good luck with the play!

she is the 3rd youngest of 7 children (5 girls, 2 boys)
she is very honest. Not exactly a main character, but definetly not an extra.
She is younger than 10, I think. How old are you that you got the part???

rent the movie. its great if you love Julie Andrews and musicals but horrible if you don't. i liked it. just watch it and answer the questions for yourself.
