Lol I love it, I think a good ole fashioned invasion from Britain would do the trick at uniting Americans again. Who cares if your neighbor is a lib or a con, you've got some damn redcoat knocking at your door asking for a stamp tax! Libs and cons alike would dump tea into the river (and be harshly scolded by PETA and ELF because fish do not drink tea) but none the less, we would once again fight a common enemy and ignore any divides that lie upon the surface. Besides, aren't we all American? And if Americans know one thing, its that we're better than the Brits!

For Spain and Portugal, it was partly to spread Catholicism; and to enslave "natives" who could mine gold that was sent back to Europe. For Britain, the establishment of colonies was more indirect and economic (charter-companies; etc.). For Britain, also understand that Britain's own natives wanted to self-colonize in North America; and be free to practice their own religious faiths. Germany did not come on the scene of colonization until the late 1800s; and even then, the Americas were already taken; so it colonized parts of Africa and perhaps a little bit of (Southeast) Asia. France also got colonization-fever at this time; but even in the 1500s and 1600s, it colonized a little bit of North America (Louisiana Territory of present day-U.S.A.). France frequently lost interest in colonization and sold a lot of colonies; until the late 1800s; when it stubbornly fought wars with natives; to hold its overseas colonies. In fact, that is partly how the Vietnam War began. After France gave up on Vietnam, the U.S. mysteriously felt that it should take over the struggle. There could be a lot more info. I'll stop while I'm ahead.

Have you heard of Darwin's law, survival of the fittest. What did Europe do when it was in charge? a few years cant compare to centuries of making a mess of things. So stand up after we have saved your but you indignant and jealous Brit. And we will show you why we are in charge, again.

Well you didn't feel that way when we bailed you out of 2 world wars and kept Russia from dominating all of Europe. And you certainly didn't refuse the help we gave Europe in rebuilding after WWII.

sounds pretty arrogant to me, and I believe that is why everyone is upset with us here. We are arrogant. Of course we have earned the right to be arrogant also. Who says you are more civilized? Because you think you are so tollerant? Tollerance is a resistance that is built up to medication or even poison so who says tollerance is correct. Maybe the right thing to do is to stand for what you believe in no matter who does not like it. maybe you should be more tollerant of our ideas. That is what you are good at huh?

Mainland Europe couldn't find its own **** at high noon, with both hands, let alone do anything successfully on a world stage.

No and when has Europe ever stood up for anything. Look around everytime they got into trouble America had to bail them out. (WWI & WWII)
