Lunch - sandwiches or snack around £5 a day
Travel - if needed £23 for 7 days
Drinks - allow £2 each drink (you know how much she will have)
Attraction entrance for a student allow £10 each
So 6 days, 2 charging visits (Museums are free), 3 drinks in the evening each day = just over £200 which leaves £150 for presents etc.

I went to the UK this past summer, and I had some spare pounds, plus a VisaBuxx card. It's provided by Visa, and it's created for teens/students. The parent can load money from their account onto the students card with the click of a few buttons from home, and they can monitor what the student is spending the money on. It's accepted almost anywhere in London, but the student should have some extra pounds just in case :)

Get a prepaid Visa card as well. London is pricey and so are some of the attractions. Get an underground (tube) 1week pass if they are going to be travelling on the tube, it will be cheaper.
A little extra would help to have in reserve.

you should ensure the replacing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, yet ask an section the position the barracks is the position they opt for the guards who replace those already on look after. once they're chosen, they march to the Palace with a band. this is truly cool. If the Queen isn't interior the Palace, bypass for a excursion. look at Madame Toussaud's wax museum, visit Harrods and bypass for a journey on the tube (subway). Sunday morning at Piccadilly sq. is truly cool. The Tower of London is truly cool - the Crown Jewels are there. they're remarkable!!!

Id say no. London is terribly expensive. If she needs to pay for tourist attractions etc, she may run short. However, there are many Western Union branches all over the place so if she needed more money and you were able to get it to her via this method, you could rest easy. I would probably give her 500 pounds and ask her to go a bit easy. London is wonderful, I hope she enjoys her stay there.

that isn't enough.London is not your home and in case of certain emergencies you will have nobody to help you out with cash.Get the large amount you can even if you won't need them because that might be your savior.
