Everyone thinks he knows where we came from, where we aregoing, and what it all means. For the latter two statements, it is unfortuantely impossible to know the answer as a fact. As for the first, it is generally of little consequence. If you want to know where we came from, hold a boilogy text and Genesis next to one another and decide for yourself. Unless you will be acting basd on what you think rather than know, it doesn't matter which you choose.
However, if you decide you are going to act based on your view of 'where we came from,' further thinking may be necessary. Humans beings are amalgams of trillions of atoms; that's it. While this may seem cynical or cliche, that doesn't matter because it is a fact. We are a result of various replicators having differential reproductive success on this stupid little planet millions of miles from the sun. That's how/why we are here. If you want to draw meaning from that, good luck, I don't see any.

Scientists have theory that all life was started by reducing atmosphere in which organic compounds could have been formed from simple molecules... The energy for the making of these molecules could have came from a lot of lightning and UV radiation...
As evolution progressed more chemicals were released into the "air" (ie. sulphur from volcanoes), more chemical cycles started to happen, and more species came to exist.
Through the process of evolution we eventually came to be.
Darwin's pretty interesting when it comes to evolution. But if this theory is correct, it would explain how we adapted to our environment, it would be because we came from the environment, but our evolution has also had an effect on the environment around us leading to more evolution... Science is pretty darn GREAT!
Keep in mind this is just a theory, and nothing in science has ever really been proven... There's just a lot of evidence towards things, and processes keep happening the same way.. I'll stop now, because this will lead to a philosophical rant that would have nothing to do with your question.
Good question though...

No. No dust,no monkeys, no other species. Yes we are native of this Earth, the origins of life may not be, but we are. Yes we are continuously evolving
or adapting, it is just not done in a few years, it took millions of years to happen. The Origin of Species is the best document to the effect that we are adapting as a world. There are forms of life in the bottom of the ocean that have adapted to sulfur, instead of carbon, which most life is sustained with.

Yes. We have a good deal of knowledge to provide answers to some of your questions.
Not exactly dust, but we are all "star stuff" as Carl Sagan used to say. Check out the Miller-Urey experiments, where scientists were able to "create life" in the laboratory using basic elements that match early earth conditions. OK, they didn't exactly create life, but experiments showed that organic molecules spontaneously form from these elements. These molecules are considered the "building blocks of life".
We didn't evolve from modern monkeys, but from common ancestors which were much more monkey-like than we are today. Read about evolution from various sources.
It's kind of meaningless to ask if we are meant to be here. Because we evolved here you could say yes, that we are absolutely meant to be here. On the other hand, we could be hit by a huge meteor or some kind of killer virus that wipes us out in a flash. In that sense, you could conclude that we are not meant to be here.

Exactly my question! But, from a scientific veiw, the theory most scientists go on is the Big Bang Theory. It explains that Universe was a big ball of "stuff" under an enormous amount of pressure. After so long, the Big Bang occured and the ball split up to later form the Sun and planets from a large Nebula.
Of course, there is still the question well, okay now WHERE did we come from. Well, it's said that becuase of the atoms and stuff around they eventually formed life form.

Haven't you heard, the debate is over, we have the fossils!!!! Fossils, DNA tracings and observations of most fossil intermediates in vertebrate evolution have indeed been found. A clear line of fossils now traces the transition between whales and hoofed mammals, between reptiles and mammals, between dinosaurs and birds, between apes and humans. The fossil evidence of evolution between major forms is compelling.

God created the Earth and all the living things. Like us. God made us special and placed on Earth our one and only home. Or maybe your thinking the Solar System! Long ago, there are only 8 planets And when God created the Earth there are 9!

We come from single celled organism. Now, whether that organism came from another planet or even another galaxy, that I do not know. But it is a strong possibility.

From my parents. Let's face that fact, if this aren't true then we would have not been here in the first place. But who did they came form, you may aske? Again, it's obvious isn't it. The first being though, was from our Lord our creator who created all things that we see in this universe in the beginning. Good enough, no?

I came from my momma who has told me she is pretty sure she came from her momma......
As far as the esoteric "who begat whom?"..... well, we're sill looking for the first person born on the planet........... and Eve giving birth somewhere around 4004 B.C. just does not jive my friends.........
So I'm thinking it was a few years earlier than that, and maybe the writings of a tribe in the desert only 3300 years old might be a bit off........
