There alot more great obscure games Ive played but I cant even remember their names. If you cant tell Im a strategy game freak. Chess is the only 10 because its the game ive been playing the longest and great. Connect 4 isnt on the list because it isnt really a board... But it gets an 8 still one of my favorites.

After looking at everyone elses i realized i forgot chinese checkers and balderdash and all the rest... Just assume Ive played the majority of board games in existence, except for those on the wikipedia link.

I am a staunch believer that, " He who dies with the most toys wins.", and I am going to win.
I've played a lot of board games. One of my favorites is whodunit. Axis and Allies takes the concept of Risk to a whole new level. Shogun is a great game for board warriors. Dark tower was always fun.
Hell, I still enjoy Uncle Wiggily and SORRY with the little ones. I hate Chutes and Ladders ( Damned chutes get me every time ). Parcheesi is a fun old time strategy game. I always liked MASTERPIECE . CLUE is an entertaining game. I always sucked at Monopoly. I never got the hang of Checkers.
I think my favorite game of all time is Battle Cry followed in a close second by Dog Fight.
Parker Brothers made some outstanding FAMILY games as did Milton Bradley.
Anyone up for a good game of Chinese Checkers ????

My favorite game is 1830 - The Game of Railroads & Robber Barons (10+). I also like History of the World (8) and other games by Avalon Hill. One new game that I've played that I really liked is Apples to Apples (9 or 10). Compatibility is a good "couples" game. I just got Age of Mythology the board game for my son for Christmas and I'm looking forward to trying that out. Of course we have Risk, Monopoly, Careers, Trivial Pursuit, Battleship and other popular ones too.

I love Risk, even though my hubby beats me every time. I also love Carcassone and Transamerica, two of the lesser-known board games. Transamerica is a map-based game where each player has five American cities that they have to connect by building railroads between them. The person who connects all of their cities first wins that round. It gets fun because you can also build off of other player's railroads to connect to your cities.

Carcassone is based on the actual city in France. It's also map-based. Each player draws a map tile each turn and the idea is to build castles, roads, etc. You get a certain number of points for each one. Once all of the tiles have been played, you count up all of your points that you've received for building each structure, and the person with the most points wins. Also fun because you get to play off the tiles others have laid down, so there is an element of competition to see who can finish and capture the castle first!
