I'll call heels pumps sometimes, but only if the heel is a low heel. HIGH heels are just heels. I do call my bag a purse, though.

Now that you mention it, I knew someone who called her purse a bag because it carried no cosmetics. Apparently in her world purses have cosmetics in them, bags don't. Yeah...
Pumps? Heels? I just say dress shoes. =)

"pumps"- I don't know why anyone uses that word
bags are what we they put our groceries and other purshases in- plastic bags
"purse" is just a more feminine word
