Has anyone ever had some serious problems with these?

I've had them both done and didn't have problems with either.

I don't have experience personally but I do know you have to be very careful with either of those.
My boyfriend's sister has her belly bottom, eyebrow and tongue done. Her belly button got caught when she was lifting something and almost ripped out. Yo have to be very careful of that kind of thing.
They can get infected quite easily, but that really depends on how you care for them and also how your skin and body reacts to them.
My dentist told me that tongue rings (where they have the bell bar thingy) are really bad for your teeth. I'd personally steer clear of them (particularly since I hate that thing everyone I know who has it done does, where they flip the bar around in their mouth and poke it out their teeth.. yuck..) But if you think you could deal with it, then go ahead!
Make sure you do a lot of research on them before you decide. Go to a piercing saloon and ask some questions and do a lot of searching on the net. There's some good info out there. Good luck!

I had my belly pierced ten years ago. It pussed and got infected. Now that I am too old for that, I had a nasty little scar. If you keep it clean, you shouldn't have problems, but I have very sensitive skin.
Just make sure that the place you go to is clean and reputable.

The first time i got my tounge pierced it was put in sideways,so it just wouldnt heal.had to remove it,let it heal and go back and have it redone.that time it was fine. as far as the belly button,my daughter had hers done and it got very infected and smelled awful. the doctor put her on anti-biotics and topical ointment and after awhile it healed, belly ring intact. Alot of it depends on where you go to have it done. if it's a place all your friends have gone and they havent had a problem then i'd say your pretty safe getting it done there. just dont go to a little hole in the wall to do it.

Nothing major happened when I got my tongue pierced, I was bleeding alot that's all.

well if you want to talk then dont get your tongue peirced.. with me it took a week of washing out my mouth and eating mashed potatoes but it is freaken awsome
