For 2 computers sharing files, you dont even need a HUB

a "router" would be if youre looking to split an internet connection, along with sharing files. Plus a hubs cheaper.

With only 2 computers you could use a crossover cable, (the yellow ethernet cable) and set up your computers to share the files

You could even get by without buying a hub or a router if you wanted to share the same internet connection by using one as a gateway for the other to access the internet.
Only draw back is that the one thats the gateway would always have to be on in order for the other computer to use it to access the internet.

go to some electronics store buy a simple 4-port router, plug both computers in question in access security options on the files you wish to share and enable sharing then put them both in the same workgroup, or make a domain (need a domain controller pfff "server") or just make a vpn.....or try this \\ip.ip.ip.ip\C$ <--computer access C drive with $=admin...
