Since 2003 America has lost 3,000 troops in Iraq in the name of freedom and Democracy. In 2003 alone 30,592 abortions were commited. How can you say that to many troops have died for no reason in Iraq and still say that abortion is perfectly fine?

We all know that they are comparabled, we're talking about human lives here. Don't say it's not a human until it is born because the baby's heart is beating, it has fingers, a brain, and a heart when you the abortion is commited.

I would rather know that 30,000 abortions were performed safely and legally than not know how many women died in back alley abortion clinics. And 3,000 troops died in vain, 30,000 fetus' died so that the world wouldn't not get over populated with children that are unwanted.

Wow, I think the real tragedy of your question besides that they I think they are incomparable but since the aborting issue is so steeped in religious significance it will never be over. The real tragedy is that you are mentioning only the troops it is believed and this report is from September of 2004 that over 100,000 Iraqis that is men, women and children had been killed. Here is a quote:

"Findings indicated 100,000 more Iraqis died than would have been expected to die, with 84% of the deaths caused by coalition forces, and 95% of the deaths due to air strikes and artillery."

That was in 2004. This number is conservative other reports say double this much and more. Two years later how many more ahve died.

I appreciate your passion but your comparison is ridiculous. People do not have life long relationships to a fetus. A fetus does not have friends or a family. While I hate the idea of anything having to die, I cannot see how you could compare them. And just because I am pro-choice does not mean I like the idea of an abortion. I think it is probably the toughest decision a woman would have to make.

This question is the exact opposite of the question I asked an hour ago. Why is abortion wrong but letting these babies grow up, go to war and die is okay?

My question shook up enough people so that I got some very unpleasant answers.

First off, the soldiers who died in Iraq were there to serve Cheney, Halliburton, and the like. The Iraqis still are not free in spite of all the American dead. they want the US military out of their country.

About abortion, if it is performed safely within the first few weeks of pregnancy, there is no baby yet, just a group of cell. After that, I believe abortion is questionable at best.

First off, those soldiers didn't die for freedom and democracy. They died because the current administration is more concerned with lining their friends' pockets than with human lives. Iraq was a huge mistake and a distraction from the real enemies.

Secondly, how can you compare a fully grown human being and a bundle of cells that may one day become a human? There's a huge difference between the potentiality for human life and actual human life. If you don't think there's a difference, then who would you save in the burning fertility clinic, the toddler or the petri dish with five fertilized eggs?

Both are not good acts and should be stopped. Arbotion is killing; why would someone fall pregnant if they didn't want the child in the first place. As for the Iraq war (or any war), it wasn't really necessary at all. Why can't people just sit down and talk things out instead of going to war.

Both war and abortion will leave wounds that will take decades to heal because lives will be lost!!!

These troops were killed and or wounded in the name of oil, not freedom or democracy. Abortions in the first trimester are not killing a baby, I think the woman should have a choice wether to have an abortion and the guy should shut up.

The answer to your question is simple. The reason they believe it is "perfectly fine" is because they believe abortion to be a last-minute form of birth control, and that the embryos are not living. I am conditionally pro-choice. I only condone it for rape victims and mothers who would probably not survive the pregnancy. I DO NOT condone it for use with people who were irresponsible, and didn't use protection.

These are only my opinions, I do not ask anyone else to believe in them.

How about the fact that 8000 American soldiers died in the 8 years of Clinton during peace time? Liberals use the stats to turn people emotionally against war. They have no idea the context that the deaths really need to be taken in.

that's like comparing the number of car crashes to the number of times people cut their finger peeling potatoes. I am a Liberal and I'm not for abortions but you wouldn't be satisfied until everyone in the world marches to your orders
