He should win. His only competition is Brady Quinn & he didn't show up in big games. Smith did. It won't even be close.

I myself am a QB and model my gameplay, mentality, and attitude after Brady Quinn. Quinn is by far the best QB that will enter the NFL next year, and has much better physical tools then Troy Smith. For two years, he has flourished under a NFL style offense with Charlie Weis as his mentor, and put up numbers that would have won heismans any other year. However, Troy Smith stepped up in his games against Texas and Michigan this year and put up numbers comprable to Quinn. Not only that, he put his team into the National Championship Game and BCS bowl for the 2nd straight year. Quinn will be the 1st overall pick next April in the NFL Draft, but tomorrow night belongs to Troy Smith, the best COLLEGE Football player in the Country. Go Irish!

It seems that many here are confused. The Heisman trophy is not awarded to a player for what his team did, it is for what the individual player did. I'm sorry but I just wasn't all that impressed with Troy Smith. I think also that the Heisman trophy shouldn't even be voted on until after all of the bowl games have been played.

Troy Smith has great playmakers around him such as Ted Ginn Jr., Gonzales, St. Onge, and Antonio Pittman. Maybe if he was playing Michigan than that would be...a different story and since watching Michigan (#1 defense) against a very good offense was ssssoooooooo BORING to people, well just settle for a blowout against Flordia. Watch Chris Leak to get cruched playing!
OSU: 48
Flordia: 16

I would vote for McFadden but the Heisman was already won by Troy Smith months ago.

I feel that he should win!! He as played quite a season. He has time after time showed that he has what it takes to lead a team to win game after game. Look at OSU's record. That should say enough alone!!

Since he won by the second highest point total ever, I think that says it all.
