Is the Hagen Tronic heater a good buy?

Can't say I've ever used it, but Hagen is usually a decent brand. With heaters, you tend to get what you pay for. Don't skimp; heaters CAN fail and if they fail to turn off when they're all the right temp, you can cook your fish.
Anyway, I'm sure you'd be fine with the Hagen Tronic. Personally, I like Ebo-Jagger.

Ive tried it and didnt care for it. First the cord is too short, second it started taking on condensation after only 6 months. Ive also tried the marineland visitherms, and it stuck on and nearly boiled my fish. Now i use and only use Ebo-Jagers. Cant beat german engineering.

they're good heaters but a bit too pricery.. i have visitherm stealth's in both of my tanks.. love them
