You dont 'leak' in the sense that you can lose a small amount and then it stops coming completely for hours or days. It doesnt work like that.
You can however have a very very light flow of fluid, it ebbs and flows, maybe wetting a panty liner for a while, and an hour later is runs down your leg. It wouldnt stop and start.
You cannot 'hold' it like urine. You can lay in certain ways that really slow down the flow substancially, but you cannot stop it entirely.
I JUST went through this for two hours at the hospital.. I thought I was leaking fluid :) Turns out I was wrong, and just for future knowlegde, your vaginal discharge and be extremely watery when pregnant, enough to trickle down your leg.
Its the stopping and starting that tells you its urine or discharge. If its constant for hours and hours, like you have to keep changing a panty liner, or you think you just keep wetting yourself, or it feels like its gushing when you stand up, or walk around, but not so much when sitting, then it is your water.
If you're really confused, call your doctor, they can walk you through it.

a upward push in discharge is person-friendly throughout being pregnant. Lie down for a nil.5 hour or so with a clean pad on. once you upward push up word the quantity of flluid on the pad. Amniotic fluid has an extremely distinctive scent, like bleach or Comet. If there is below a teaspoon finished or 2 and there is not any scent you're maximum in all likelihood purely having a common discharge. day after today call the physician and ask in the event that they have attempt strips for checking fluid leakage.

You cant hold in the water, like you can urine. It will still leak out. Wear a pad and if it gets soaked more with clear fluid then it is probably your water. I leaked for a week with mine and then it finally broke with a big gush. They used a test at the hospital to see ifi t was amniotic fluid. when I was leaking

you can not hold amniotic fluid in like you can urine, but on the other hand when you are that pregnant you sometimes will leak urine too, it is very hard to tell the difference w/o going to the hospital and having the fluid tested. you should call you doctor..

Amniotic fluids will not make you feel like you have to pee. When you are leaking your panties will keep getting damp. You can change them and a few minutes later they will be damp again. This will happen with or without the urge to pee.

You have to go to your OB. They can do a fern test that can tell if the fluid is urine or amniotic fluid. It is hard to tell the difference otherwise. Amniotic fluid is usually colorless and odorless and is the consistency of urine. Again, go to your doctor. If your membranes have ruptured, you may need to deliver soon to prevent infection.

Fluid is a thicker subtance than pee & usually clear unless stained with mecconum (sp?) then it would be greenish.
And you can't hold it in like pee-it'll just run/drip
PS I think you may be going soon-*~congrats~*
