When my friend relocated he went to the local library and got a brochure and pamphlet. One gave a list of events that take place in the community on a regular basis that anyone could attend. The other one gave a list of activities that are offered around town and surrounding areas.

He attended some and met people that were friendly enough to invite him to dinner, trips shopping, and one couple took him on a lengthy road trip.

This has worked for more than three of my friends now.

I hope it helps you or whoever!

Smile, ask and introduce that you're new in the neighbourhood. Some tips on being friendly and making friends:
1.Become genuinely interested in other people.
2.Smile :-)
3.Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
4.Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
5.Talk in terms of the other person’s interests.
6.Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.
