I'm not sure if its a crime to intercept someones e-mails, but the person could possibly bring a civil suit for someone reading there e-mails. It may be possible to bring an intrusion upon seclusion claim against some one reading another's e-mails. Intrusion upon seclusion requires a person to be intruded upon, physically or otherwise, in to there solitude or seclusion or private affairs or concerns, and the intrusion must be highly offensive to a reasonable person.

It is Absolutely Wrong to Intercept any snail mail or electronic documents/email that is addressed to someone else. By LAW they can take you to court. This is called INVASION OF PRIVACY, even at home!!! It's instant law! Take for example. Your doctor sends you some papers in the mail that contains your "HIV" status, and lets assume it's Positive. Would you like someone to see your private information? This can be very damaging to you if it falls in the wrong hands! Of course this is just an example to state my point. Thanks!

actually, emai is not a protected form of communication, and unless the person HACKED into your email account, its not illegal for them to read your email.

If you set up your email program to download email autmoatically (ie your username and passwords are in the settings) then they can read your email or what ever email that is already in the program.

Sorry, but there is no law against someone reading your email. And no , its not an invasion of privacy.
