That's for each person to decide for themself. It's different for everyone.
For me...I guess it's for being happy and making others happy, since I've yet to find a deeper meaning.

Billions of years ago organic matter traveled as cosmic dust from other exploded stars and landed in this planet, which already had a primitive form of bacteria, therefore beginning the process of life, thru the millenniums that follow, life evolute into various forms and species, one of them being us, the only one gradually intelligent among five billion species, there is not really a sense for life, just birth, reproduction, age and death..âº

There really is no purpose to biological life. It simply exists to reproduce.
On the other hand, now that we've reached intelligence, we find that there can be more to life than simply fulfilling our biological nature. Intelligent life wants enjoyment and happiness. In this sense, life is for happiness.

I wish I could remember the name of the philospher who proferred the notion that the reason we are here is to do good. Not do well; do GOOD (as in making our world a better place).
