the baggy jeans are a left over from prison culture when no belts were issued and one size fits all
basketball was from the first successful sports culture that black Americans dominated so it persists
violence and guns is just American culture Black or White and is a result of a civilisation built on fear and distrust. This is a country that thought slavery was a good idea ,and it had only existed for a 100 years or so at the time .
the jewelry ....left over Mr T maybe...one of the first mainstream media personality's that wasn't Oprah.

if it wasn't so exciting why is every ethnic group trying to imitate it. Why is it white folks are trying to rap claiming to be an ex-con and are found to be lying. Why are young boys of all races wearing pants that hang below their hips. Admit it the bad boy image gets all the girls and the well, squares, don't get any. Every race has something to identify themselves with just so happens this is what blacks have chosen to identify themselves with. It must look good because every kid I see is trying to imitate it. About the crime, you need to stop watching the 5:00 news it is creating a bigot in you. Maybe I am too late.

what rap music are you listening to. I didn't hear any of those things on Jay Z's new album.
The most violent rapper out right now is Eminem, he raps about killing his mom and his baby's mother. Thats deep.
Besides ... if you want to compare crimes by race white people have go have got everybody beat. Just the genocide of the native americans alone is enough to make white people the most murder loving race on the planet.
Which brings me to the point. The biggest consumers of rap are white kids, so it is more a part of your culture than you think.

ah.. here we go again another inquisitive white person.. why cant u just leave things along.. yall ask y we can call each other the "n" word and yal cant along with many other things and the answer is.. its just the way things are... unless u r planning on turning black in the next couple years just stop wondering and pay attention to u and your own race.lol.. but the answer about violence and such goes back to the times of slavery (yeah u dnt wanna hear it but its true) we had to resort to violence to protect ourselves from u and your people and unfortunately this trend of violence still follows the black race. some of us feel either shoot or get shot and thats the way it is in some parts of this country and thats y rappers concentrate on shootings and violence because its the true. thats the life that they live so thats what they "sing" about just like country musicians sing about cattle and and cars and all that kinda stuff rappers rap about what they live and have lived, and their past etc.

they arnt. my sister wears "chunky jewelry" and she and i are white. its all about how they were raised as a child. rap is not just about rape and drugs and crap like that. it can be for good, but most choose it not to be.

I don't know, but goodness knows, I don't go one day without seeing a white teen or 20-something portraying that exact stereotype.

Yes they are all criminals. and the ones that arent are too stupid to imagine any other culture. if you can call that stuff culture.
Of course there are always exceptions and plenty of smart A.A.'s who do good things in life, but the loud ones with guns give them a bad name
