My brother went to Northwestern. University of Chicago also has a good rep.

Well, at the very top is the University of Chicago, with Northwestern University in the suburb of Evanston as a close second. These are both private universities. DePaul and Loyola are the tops when it comes to Catholic related colleges, and the University of Illinois at Chicago is the best and biggest public university in the city.

Public: the top school is University of Illinois at Chicago. The other public universities in Chicago are not that good.
