What bus you taking? Had a road trip with friends a year ago to Boracay from Iloilo and it approximately took 4-6 hours bus ride! You sure you went to Boracay?? That's inaccurate information you posted here.

From Iloilo to Caticlan
Ceres Bus has regular bus schedules, some of them air conditioned, from Iloilo to Kalibo and three times daily directly to Caticlan. GM Liner is another bus company plying the route Iloilo - Caticlan with air-conditioned buses twice daily in both directions. Alternatives are the mini-vans from Iloilo to Kalibo and another mini-van from there to Caticlan. Another alternative is to rent a taxi from Iloilo directly to Caticlan. The trip Iloilo to Caticlan takes between 4 to 5 hours.

Bus from Iloilo usually makes a stop over at Kalibo terminal to offload and pick up new passengers, then it proceeds to Caticlan the final destination and drop off point for Boracay bound passengers.

Approximately travel time from Iloilo to Kalibo 3-4 hours and Kalibo to Caticlan 1.5 to 2 hours.

I'm not sure where you're originating from but another way to reach Boracay is through Ro-Ro. You travel by bus and ferry. To know more here's the link: http://www.dotc.gov.ph/actioncenter/articles/april/articles_04102003.htm

From the Airport in Mandurrio take a taxi (Preferably a "Light of Glory") to the Bus depo downtown and buy a Ticket on the Airconditioned express bus to Aklan (Aprox P500). The bus stops at the Ferry terminal to Boracay. The busride takes 2 hours and 40 min and stops for a 20 min rest stop just past midway. This is the most economical and safest way.

Another option is to buy a seat of one of those VFH's (Vehicles for Hire). Cost's a little more and the drivers drive like madmen because they get paid by the trip. Guarenteed to make an Italian Taxi driver look like a little old lady on the road. You can meet them at any of the major shopping malls.

The third option is to hire a van (12 pax) (aprox P3,500) to pick you up at the airport and take you straight to Aklan. There are usually a couple vans hanging out at the parking lot across from the airport.
