According to the last US Census, out of a population of 25,614 there were 28 same sex couples in Poinsett County, AR; so there are gay people there but you may not just know anyone. You can check out gay sites online to find other people near you, or if you are able to you could consider moving to a larger city with a larger gay population such as St. Louis, Memphis, Little Rock, or Nashville. You may feel like you are alone, but you are not.

You know, I used to feel the same way. Sometimes I still do. I'm a transsexual though, and it's REALLY hard to find someone open to dating a transsexual around here.
However, everyone keeps telling me that stupid saying, "When you stop looking is when you find it." And I know you probably won't believe me (I didn't believe them when they told me either) but it's true. Stop focusing so much on finding a mate and just enjoy life and enjoy making yourself happy. Trust me, when others see you as a confident happy person, it attracts people. Because they want to know what you have going for you in your life that makes you so happy and confident, and that's when someone will find YOU and you weren't even looking. There are more gay people around you than you would believe. But until you can move to a bigger city, why not make friends online? There are a few sites out there that are very good for that sort of thing.

Also, I would search online for gay organizations, MCCs, etc. in the larger cities around you.

Dallas is a "few miles away" tons of gay guys here but I'm sure there are plenty there, its not very socially respected in that state nor in mine but theres hardly any big cities in Arkansas...... but believe me they are out there
