well not always as in never, if i followed my instincts then my life would be different.

My instincts are usually right, but I have in the past had to learn that after not following and regretting that.

I usually work better according to impulses and I've noticed that my results are better when I just follow the first thought that sparks in my mind. If I stop to think things over and over, I reach other conclusions that might not be as successfull as the first one.
