Basically, how do bands come up with names like Afroman, Soilwork, Linkin Park, The Beatles, Aqua, Bright Eyes, Cursive, Korn, etc. These are just examples. I am asking about all bands. How do they come up with these names?
I would like to know about the Bright Eyes one, though.

i really dont know but i know that sometimes it can take a long time to find the perfect name...they prolly just start talking and when something that they like or expresses themselves then thats the name!! So yeah every band had its own away for making up their band names. Just like everyone is unique every band is unique...hope this helps!!!

Yea, had that problem too. i'd change it only if you plan to put out a cd/ tour etc. if the guys and or chic in your band don't want to do anything more than play locally then keep it, people will know who you are. if you change it they won't, also do a little homework before you pick a band name. i remember one time i bought this cd of a great band called Creed, it was horrible, at least in comparison, it was a newer band Creed. i should have paid a little more attention, they were too young. live and learn
