People keep saying, Baron Davis, Chris Paul, Gilbert Arenas, Iverson, etc. are better. Cmon this guy is one of the greatest of all time! He's averaging 13.8 points 9.6 assists 8.6 rebounds right now! He's 33! He's had microfracture surgery! Chris paul is amazing but still has his inconsistent nights. Jason Kidd has almost a triple double every game he plays. Lets see all the guys you say are better come off microfracture surgery and still perform at Kidd's level at 33. He's the best rebounding point guard in the league. He averages more boards than Chris Wilcox, Amare Stoudamire, Reggie Evans, Samuel Dalembert, to name a few; all who are big 7 foot tall guys, Kidd's 6'4"!

Yeah. But Vince Carter is not helping the nets at all with his horrible shot selection sometimes.

by far kidd is the best PG in the league. First of all he's exciting to watch, he's a leader, he rebounds, scores and drops dimes like nobodies business. Plus the triple doubles....are a plus. oh yeah and he took a bunch on nobodies to the NBA finals

Nash averages 21.3 points Kidd averages 13.8
Nash averages 11.5 assts Kidd averages 9.6
Nash is shooting 52% Kidd is shooting 42.7
Nash 3 pt % is 52% Kidd is 29%

And the best reason why Nash is better
New Jersey is 7-11
Phoenix is 11-6

You asked about the NBA today not over a career. Nash did not start out as a starter so his career numbers are lower do to less minutes played. The Nets don't have another guy to get rebounds and that spreads out the rebounding more. You don't need to rebound as a guard if you have big guys who can do it for you. Kidd also plays in the weaker Eastern Conference which is the main reason he has been to the finals.

I would say Jason Kidd is the best point because he is so much better than nash at defense and rebounding plus he doesnt have the luxury of having so many good offensive players around him BUT nash's team has been on a tear the last 3 years and the nets are just mediocre so i would have to give nash the nod...because a point's main duty is to lead his team

nash can shoot and pass all day...but he is terrible on defense, just like his team...kidd is a respected defensive player along with passing and scoring...as well kidd can rebound...jason kidd no contest...as for the comment about their teams...if jason kidd had guys like shawn marion, amare stoudamire, raja bell, etc. he would have more assists and be the team to likely make the finals or win it all...nothing against vince carter but he can't defend and has to be motivated to play well.

jason kidd the best pg in the league.

ya i agree kidd has been underated lately... but no one is notcing him because his numbers may be good but his team is bad. DUDE VINCE CARTER plus JASON KIDD on 1 team!!!! They should be like one of the best teams in the eastern conference but there not.. so Kidd isnt one of the best Point guards in the NBA is his team isnt that good especially wit V.C.

yes. he could give out way more assists if he wanted to, but like he said, he wont give out 'cheap' assists just to get a triple double or anything. nash is good&all but how he doesnt almost average a triple double a night.

I think so. He's almost averaging a triple double. You can't beat that, especially for a point guard.
