My 3 month old has this consistant rash in her diaper area. It's not a "diaper rash". It's more like small raised bumps.

Is it possible that she's allergic to something?

and please don't tell me to take her to her pediatrician, I plan to.

I've tried "Butt Paste"...Balmex, and Desitin. And just air drying. None of them helped.

It could also be a yeast infection- both of my kids had it because of thrush. Talk to their doctors!!!

Yes a baby can be allergic to both wipes and diapers or just have sensitive skin. Especially the cheaper ones, the wipes seem to have more perfume and alcohol. For wipes, try the pampers sensitive wipes, they have no alcohol and didn't burn my son when he had a bad rash. Try switching diapers. It may also be a food allergy. Has she eaten anything different. Is she drinking a lot of juice? Are you breastfeeding and eating something high in acid or drinking a lot of juice. Any of this could be it.

Another thing it could be is a yeast or bacterial infection which often look like diaper rash, just don't go away. That one the pediatrician will have prescribe something for.

Also, just a note, I don't think it will help this time because what you described it is not just diaper rash, but the best diaper rash cream is called Dr Smiths. Boudreuxs Butt Paste is second.

Good luck, hope this helped!!

make sure the diapers are loose when you put them on. They will leak occasionally, but your baby's bottom needs lots of air. Make sure you change the diaper as soon as it's wet, especially #2, and ONLY use sensitive wipes. Any time you notice a sign of rash, use only water and very mild baby soap to clean your baby (hold her under the faucet or splash water onto her) and don't wipe, just pat dry. And I know alot of people don't clean the baby when it just pees, but it's really important to. The urine contains ammonia (which makes it smell) and ammonia will irrirate the baby's skin. Also, don't use alot of products on your baby...a diaper rash cream with zinc oxide is good to use when you wont be able to change the diaper for a while (at night, road trips, etc) because it keeps the moisture away from the skin, but it's important to make sure the skin is dry before applying it or you will end up trapping moisture in. Remember, nature didn't prescribe diaper rash cream or powders, so they aren't as necessary as people think. Just make sure you keep your baby dry. That's most important. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but my daugter is 8 months old and has NEVER had any diaper rash. Get a waterproof pad (a changing pad will work) and make playtime diaper-free time! I'm not sure about the allergic to diapers thing, I've only ever used huggies and pampers, but my daughter has very sensitive skin and I've never had a problem with either kind. I hope this works. Good Luck.

Yes, it could be the brand of diapers you are using. or even the wipes. Try different diapers but use the same wipes, if it still happens try different wipes but keep the same diapers. If it clears up then try going back to the original diapers and see that was also a factor there too.
One also thing if you can't find any brand of diapers that don't cause the rash on her you may have to go to cloth diapering. I can't tell you a whole lot about CD but I do know of one great brand called fuzzi buns

Sometimes Luvs diapers cause a reaction because of the blue dye in the diaper itself. Pampers are real good diapers but any other brand should work fine. Try unscented wipes my son is allergic to the fragrence in it. Or pampers makes sensitive wipes. Hope I helped, it could be a infection or something so going to the docs is a good idea, usually ointment will cure diaper rash its possible its something else. Hope I helped!

Well yes, i cant use only brand pampers because my son get irritated, muy dauther only could use huggies, cartain brand do give rashes and alergic reaction to some babies: Consider chnging the brand of diapers, and USE Vaseline to coat his bottom that way the pee or doodo dont irritate the area. Should be fine in a couple of day, try that if these dont work, then it might be fungus... that happens when the skin is expose to too much moisture in the diaper area. Maybe the diaper is not absorbing it. Make sure you chaneg the diaper constaly. and dont forget the vaseline and baby powder with CORNSTARCH. OK.. take care of the lil one.

All my children were allergic to huggies diapers, so it could be the diapers that she wears, or depending on the kind of wipes you use a lot of them have a perfumy smell to them that could be it to, she might have sensitive skin and need the sensitve skin wipes, also you can try corn starch, that is better than baby powder, or butt paste such as destin, and the other brands.

My son cannot use generic diapers. He breaks out unless he wears huggies or pampers. He also did not do well with formula until I put him on Soy formula. Also try changing her more often cuz sometime if I get side tracked and forget to change him when I should he gets a little rash.
Even when he was older and I started giving him milk I had to limit the amount he got so he would not get a rash or poop to much
good luck and hang in there

Yes, my son is very allergic to all diapers except for Luvs, and yes a child can be allergic to wipes, my son got a rash from every kind except huggies natural care hypoallergenic. He was also allergic to all the butt rash medicines except for Balmex.
He is now three and still has very sensitive skin, he must use Johnson's and Johnson's hypoallergenic body wash and shampoo. And the only laundry soap I can use for his clothes is ALL hypoallergenic. Each has to be found out one at a time, so have patients, and yes it is a good idea to consult the pediatrician

Take your daughter to a doctor. My daughter had something similar. When they did a mouth scrape and blood draw...it turned out to be scarlentina (sp). If it is nothing, then I would say he will recommend the next best thing and that is to use cloth diaper and a warm water only cloth for wiping. This will show if it is a chemical used in either th disposable diaper or the wipes.
