Like, it's obviously not hardcore stuff, but do they really have sex? or are they just "faking" it?

The sex is simulated. The actors usually have to have things put over their private areas like socks or g-strings. I think it's probably a very hard thing to do(no pun intended) act like you are aroused but then not able to do anything about it. That's probably why so many actors hook up after they have done sex scenes together.

they're faking it other wise it would be called porn. it seems real though. like in stepford wives for example, faith hill had to fake an orgasm. it's all pretend but the actors and actresses are really good at pretending, hence why they do what they do.

Unless they show anything, then they are just faking it. Most of the time, in PG-13 movies anyway, they are all covered in blankets anyway, and usually nothing is shown in R either.

My assumption is no, and there should be regulations against such, unless of course, they are filming an X rated movie of sorts ;).

No, it's all fake, although in some movies (Angel heart) they try to do it for real
