why dont kids today dont have respect for their elders?i know when i was growing up,if us kids did what some of these kids do today,we would know what we would get.

Because parents are so afraid to correct them ( child abuse you know the drill ) they think that it don't matter.You want respect you need to start with there parents. My kids ( not to brag ) respect all the elders. I started out by giving them the abuse hot line phone # an told them you screw up I'll spank that as* an if you think I'm wrong use that #. But when I get back if they haven't moved you some place worse, I'll do it again if you need it. It worked as long as you don't abuse them!!*

Who will teach them, their daycare provider? They're already busy. Mom & Dad are busy working to pay for the big house, 2 or 3 cars, etc., etc. It's easier for them to spoil their kids than to say no, or Heaven forbid punish or spank the little one.
It's a shame. When I was in school, we could get a spanking from the principal. It never killed any of us. And then our parents would get the phone call and we'd get another spanking. It didn't kill us either. You can thank the ACLU for alot of the lost discipline in our schools. Ask a teacher sometime. You'll be shocked.

If you see someone acting disrespectfully it is usually because they were never taught. how to "be " respectful . respect is a learned behavior. It's not just kids now adays who don't act respectful.... Look at some of the obnoxiuos behavior some so called adults pull on here. Sure they're screaming for attention and its apparent they don't respect themselves otherwise they would act more civil and respectful. Ignorance that's the answer to your question. ignorance is why people act disrespectful.

i agree
not only are the kids more disrespectful
the get in to drugs,sex,etc at a very young age
i was way overprotected by my dad
so i was on a tight leash
i hated it then
but i am glad now because i demanded respect

Time goes life changes with all the people. but you cant say all kids are like that. there is still kids who are very respectful.

Because their parents are too involved in their own selfish lives to teach them any manners. They would rather just sit them in front of a television or a video game than deal with them.

i think kids dont respect cause maybe life is to short to be so good i mean they should staight up and respect people but still have a little fun

I think it's our own fault, we've tried to give them a better life than we may have had and ended up spoiling them in the process.

because so many of the people 'raising' them are soft in the head
they don't respect authority because they've never seen it

i totally agree. tody the kids think that they run things and that the parent should satisfy their every want.
