\I have a sore throat, the kind that feels like an itchy sore. It feels somewhat puffy in the back of my throat. I can't really explain. But, what's the best thing to drink for it?

Some people say to drink orange juice, but it'll only hurt my throat even worse in since it's a certain kind of pain.

Drink ginger tea - you can buy it, or make your own by using 4 cups of water, thinly sliced ginger root - bring them to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes. Drain it after and sweeten with honey. Add lemon if you want, but the citrus may sting your throat. Take advil for the pain and stay away from milk for a few days (makes throat phlegmy).

Gargle with salt, then have a hot milky drink with honey. You dont say how long you have had it. If you start to have difficulty swallowing, or breathing, or coughing, phone the emergency amubulance, if the sore throat persists make an appointment with your doctor.

There is a box of tea bags found in the natural section of my grocery store called "Throat Coat". The brand name is Traditional Medicinals.

The active ingredient is Slippery Elm Bark. It is somewhat black licorice flavor, which I don't like, but it isn't too strong so it is tolerable. Slippery Elm does just what it says. It coats your throat, and doesn't feel so scratchy.

If you could gargle with warm salt water that will help your throat. Drink anything that can be warmed up. It will make your throat feel soothing for awhile.
