I'm debating on purchasing a new bike and want to steer towards a honda, but their webpage doesn't explain the difference between the two.

The 600F4i is the fuel injected "street" version, the 600RR (race replica) has a bit different setup, with suspension parts and specs that closer mimic race replica (hence the RR connotation) motorcycles.

Actually Albert's right.. if you research the specs on the bike the CBR is actually the heaviest out of the lot.. GSXR600 - 359 lbs 636 - 355lbs CBR600RR - 370lbs on a bike.. that extra 9lbs is alot.. trust me.. read up on the reviews and see what other people are saying about them.. if anything you should go with the CBR600F4I.. there similar to the RR and actually before the RR came out Honda were using the F4I as their race bikes.. but get F4I with the split seats the 01-03 years..their more street comfortable ...that's good that you took the MSF course because it's a great help..

The RR stands for race replica - it's got a more extreme engine, and sacrifices a bit of comfort to give a posture best suited to going very fast on the race track. The F4i is (comparitively) more street oriented, a bit more comfortable and less high strung. They're both fun choices for a rider with a couple years of experience, but a bit wild for a first bike.

the f4i is a much older model. I don't even know why they still sell it. The 600rr is a more modern bike, looks like the lil bro to the 1000rr... the f4i looks straight out of 1998.

The RR in CBR600RR means race replica, so it is more built for racing. This means it has a higher gear ration and it is built so you are more hunched over to improve aerodynamics.
