A) It's a modern Romeo and Juliet story. A white boy from the Jets gang falls in love with a Puerto Rican girl whose brother is in the gang the Sharks. As it's to be expected, the love ends in tragedy.
B) Action is a fairly decent role.
C) Like I said, a fairly decent role. You'll have your share of lines/scenes.
D) Action is a tough guy, with a lot of attitude and a hot temper.

Really the best thing to do to prep yourself for this role is rent the movie.

A. West Side Story is a modern-day version of the old Romeo and Juliet story... two young people fall in love, but they're from different cultures. Tony is kinda in the Anglo Jets gang, and Maria's brothers and friends are in the Puerto Rican Sharks. They're rivals for the same turf.

B-D. Action is a member of the Jets gang; hot-tempered and bitter. The synopsis doesn't say how many lines he has, but you will also be dancing and singing with the rest of the cast. It's a great part! Anytime you're on stage with lines is a great part! Plus, it's not the male lead, so you can make it "you" and have fun being Action without worrying about how other people remember Tony's character from the movie.

a) Sort of "Gangs of New York" meets "Romeo and Juliet". Anglo and Puerto Rican gangs fight each other while an anglo guy and a Puerto Rican girl fall in love.

b) I liked Action. He reminded me of a guy I went to school with. No BS, just...Action!

c) Not a whole lot of lines, but it's a good part.

d) He's a hoodlum; probably more of a hoodlum than any of the other Anglos.
