Boric acid is made from the reaction of borate minerals(borax) with sulfuric acid, Boric acid is very safe to use. Just sprinkle it along baseboards and anywhere else that roaches will go. It is just as safe/dangerous as table salt in small quantities and will not harm children or pets.
You can find it at any pharmacy as it also has medicinal uses. You can also find it in hardware stores and home centers.
The boric acid is tracked back to the nesting area when the insects walk through it. When they clean themselves it gets into their mouth parts and they get severe burns and die from starvation so it is not an instant remedy but it is a very thorough remedy that could take up to a month to eradicate the population. during that period it is advisable to reapply to ensure that the critters get a good dose. This is a very good substance to eradicate roaches with because there is nothing for them to become resistant to.

Almost any hardware store, or pharmacy will carry it.
It works too. No, Borax is not the same thing. Look on the box of Borax to see if boric acid is listed.
Good wishes on the roach kill. I can't stand those things. Hard to believe they have managed to be one of oldest living insects on the planet. They adjust to anything. Yuk.

Those roaches love boric acids, you need to go to a pest control shop and by this gel, called max force fc. it will kill those roaches in 2 days. just follow the directions and your little problem will be over with. It cost about 60 or 70 bucks, for 3 little tubes, but it's well worth it.

I can not tell you where to get boric acid, but I can tell you that, in powder form, it will work to kill roaches. I was working at an apartment complex and there was one tenant who kept on complaining about the bugs. This person was very dirty and all exterminators had trouble eliminating the problem. We finally got these guys to come and treat with powdered boric acid. They drilled a couple of very small holes in the walls in the kitchen. They blew the stuff in, and, as I watched, literally THOUSANDS of the critters scurried out. They came from every crack and crevice you can imagine. Hundreds were on the ceiling. And then it happened: they started dying rapidly. It was like roach rain. They were falling off the ceiling and the walls so fast it was surreal. Within a couple of minutes they covered the floor like a rug. Anyway, I know for a fact that the stuff works. So, I hope somebody can tell you where to get it. Just use it carefully.

where are you located.? there is an Exterminating company -Garfield Exterminators, who are based in Woodridge,Illinois, but have offices and contacts in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs; once they do a job for you...you will not have to waste your money on Raid, boric acid or nothing else! and are reasonably priced.I hope this helps. No, Borax is the name of the detergent...it is not the same thing as Boric Acid.

Boric Acid is okay, but what works better are two different sprays used in a there month period. One spray of perethrin kills Roaches and the other sterilizes the females stopping them form reproduction and it works great. These items can be purchased at a do it your self pest control.

Growing up in Mexico, we used at home boric acid powder for eyewash,(1/2 teaspoon to a glass of water); for foot powder to treat smelly feet(fungus); we never had roaches- so it must have been because boric acid powder was scattered on cement floors when we put it liberally on feet; we also used it on crotch for fungus itching itch.( we never had bedbugs- it must have been because of the boric acid powder on our feet.)

Yes, same thing. 20-Mule Team Borax is a laundry additive. Wal-Mart or any general or grocery store should have it with the bleach and stuff for laundry.
