I for one can't afford to spend as much as I have some years. With gas over $2 a gallon and high interest rates on the credit cards, pretty much everything I have goes to pay the bills.

I think people overall will spend more this year than the past couple of years. Wasn't the price of gas over $3 a year ago ? Right now in Atlanta, the average is $2.15. The economy is better than last year also. Most companies are hiring. And look at how the stock market has been doing. We won't know the final results until after the 25th but "increase" is my prediction.

In comparision, people are spending less or more this year because of their own revenue.
