I think that Bartholomew is a little bit long, and as the others have commented, Bart is an awful nickname! My name is Lauren and I've always liked my name. I have met very few other people named Lauren, so I'm surprised by the people who say that the name is very common. However, I was homeschooled for all 12 grades, so that may be why I never met anyone else with my name! And now I live in a small town that is mostly old people, so most people I know have old people names!

Don't name your baby Bartholomew. I do like the name Lauren for a girl.

I agree with the other answers. Lauren is a very pretty name for a girl. However, you must nix Bartholomew. If you name your son Bartholomew, he will surely be tormented on the playground and throughout his life. I have a neighbor named Bart. I have to confess, I almost laughed in front of him when he told me his name. Nice guy. Awful name.

Lauren is a pretty good name.. Uh Bartholomew is a bit long don't you think? He will probably be made fun of just name him something else.

Lauren is pretty but beware of Bartholomew. Very long name for a child to learn how to spell. He will be called Bart and may be teased by other children. (Bart the Fart)

I like Lauren, but for a boy, Bartholomew has 11 letters, and remember, he needs to spell his name in kindergarten...don't make it harder than it has to be!

I like Bartholomew, but he might go by Bart, like Bart Simpson, maybe that would be bad. I'm sorry, but I do not like Lauren at all. I don't know anyone with that name that I've ever liked!
