Some people do gain weight on BCPs.
I am currently on Kariva and have not gained any weight because of the pills. It was my eating habits that had me gain a pound or two.
I am currently at the weight I was when I started Kariva. I have gained/lost throughout that time. But that was because of my diet.

All birth cotrol pills (all hormonal birth control methods really) carry with them the risk of weight gain - however - chances are that the gain will be minimal or non-existant with a continued healthy lifestyle and self-monitoring during PMS ;-) Many women don't gain weight at all.

Normally, no. However, it is different for every women. Honestly, you'll just have to try it and then see what happens. Generally, you have a higher chance of gaining weight on the shot.
