What I found out is that it was the name of a Brythonic woman Onnen Greg back in the 5th - 7th century. The meaning is ash trees.
It is also related to the welsh name of Trefonnen which means tref (town) onnen (ashes).
There is no relation to Onan at all as I knew their never was.
Besides how can she spill her seed all over the ground?
