Manny will play left field, Crisp will be in center, JD Drew will be in right, and the Red Sox will win the pennant and world series in 2007.

They should trade Crisp, as he's not really anything special offensively or defensively, and now that they have Julio Lugo, it's not like they need a leadoff hitter. But I'm not sure there's much interest in Crisp. I have heard Pena's name thrown around in some rumors, but nothing's close yet.
However, I think ultimately the Sox are going to have to trade Manny, because they will not go over the luxury tax threshold. Signing Drew was a big mistake, as his 5-year deal will really be more like a 3 1/2-year deal once DL time is factored in.
They are trying to get Gagne to compete for the closer's job, but last I heard the Rangers and/or Indians might be offering him more money. We should know this weekend where he'll go.

If Ramirez stays, then the obvious choice would be to bench Pena, who isn't really that good despite his .301 average last year. He struck out 90 times in 276 ABs, which is about 1/3 of the time, way too much. Crisp didn't have a great year but he'll have to play center, with Drew in right and Manny in left. I think that the best thing actually for Manny would be to DH a lot, but that isn't going to happen as long as they have Ortiz playing there about 150 times a year.
Also, if Manny stays, then Ortiz should get thank the Boston front office. Ortiz puts up huge numbers, but they would not be that amazing if he didn't have Ramirez hitting behind him and letting him have nice fat pitches to hit. As a Yankee fan, I would have LOVED to see Manny get traded, but it looks like he's staying.

Well, it all depends on how they want to lead-off. If they want 2 lead-off with Coco Crisp, then Willy Mo Pena would get benched. If they want 2 lead-off with Youkilis then Crisp is benched. Personally i think that Pena is a beast in the making, and they should bat him 6th. As for Gagne, well the Red Sox are one of 7 teams who are interested in him. They are monitoring his reabilitation, if they wanted 2 sign him it would cost at least 5 million. I still think he has something left in the tank, but my favorite team the Dodgers released him, so they probably new there was something wrong with him.

If Ramirez stays, the red sox will have a killer middle of the line up. ortiz-ramirez-drew? can't beat it. they would probably bench mo pena seeing as trot nixon and gabe kapler are free agents. crisp is good for leadoff i suppose...hes fast at least. i also think hinske is back on the market...manny trade rumors fly every year...as for eric gagne...i hope so because timlin is more of a setup guy. but he has some other good setup men that would help if he needed to close.(delcarmen and hansen) the sox could also trade mo pena if need be because he isn't that great at offense...if you throw a fastball he will hit it...but...other than that...

The National's GM LOVES willy mo pena. When he was the GM of the Reds he pried him from the Yankees farm system. He's also tried to wedge himself in a few of the trades involving Manny (ex; Angel get Manny, Nationals send prospects, Red Sox send Willy Mo to Nats, Angels send Santana Figgins to Sox). Gagne could be a good solution if he's willing to sign a low contract that's incentive based.

Earlier this year, Gary Sheffield was traded from the Yankees to Detroit for a couple of top-flight prospects. The Red Sox viewed Manny as valuable. They are both productive, and while Manny is a headcase and a whiner, Sheffield is a jerk and combative. The figured they could find another team as stupid as Detroit was. Unfortunately, in a league that is well known for there's-always-a-bigger-idiot, it appears there isn't one just yet.

Well you have to play Manny. He's a great hitter, although a liability in the field...but so is David Ortiz.
JD Drew will be traded within two years. I'm calling it right now. No more than two seasons...Drew will be out of Boston.

Manny isnt going anywhere now. He will start in left, Drew in right. With Ortiz, Manny, & Drew making up 3-4-5 in the batting order. Bet on it!

They will sit Pena because he isent always a consistent bat and he is a bad fielder. Manny,Coco, and J.D will be the 3 outfielders.
