If it's gooey and thick a battery leaked. Clean it out with something like Windex; it's caustic. If it's a plastic compartment and slightly discolored and not sticky, you probably had die or paint come off the batter get onto the plastic. Don't worry about it.

certainly, what you have is extreme corrosion on the springs that carry the batteries tight, and the chemical components that the batteries released are referred to as battery acid, it is extremely caustic. It eats metallic, and garments, and dermis. in case you will attempt to bathe this factor up use warning, placed on rubber gloves, and use a mix of baking soda and water. blend it basically skinny sufficient to run. for my section, if I have been doing this, i might use a small paint brush to coach the answer to the springs, coating all of them around each and each twine, then rinse them off with clean, clean water numerous cases, washing with a clean brush each and every time till ultimately you're satisfied they're clean and freed from corrosion. Then attempt a clean set of batteries and notice if it works, if not, basically throw it away, this is long previous. And next time do not go away the batteries interior the toy while it is not in use. Take them out everytime.
